Answer: D. Grihastha

Explanation

The correct answer is Grihastha. Key Points According to the 'Chaturashrama' of the Vedic period, Grihastha is related to the period of family life. Ashramas are the stages of life which provide training and an environment for realising the ideal of our life. There are four ashramas in all: 1. Brahmacharya (Student life) 2. Garhasthya (Family life) 3. Vanaprastha (Retired life) 4. Sannyasa (Life of renunciation). The first two provide the training and environment for the Pravrtti Marg and the last two for the Nivrtti Marg of development. Each stage has its own specific duties (Vishesha Dharmas). Grihastha's period of life covers an active period of effective membership in society and covers 25 years of life after the first 25 years of education. Additional Information Early Vedic Period: It started in 1500 BC and ends in 1000 BC. The caste system was flexible and based on profession rather than birth . They are allowed to participate in the political process of the time to a certain extent. Kingship was fluid as the kings were elected for a fixed period by the local assembly known as Samiti. Rigveda: This text is c ited as the earliest text from this period. Later Vedic Period: It started in 1000 BC and ends in 600 BC . The caste system became more rigid in this period in this period with birth being the main criterion. Shudras became a mainstay in the Later Vedic Period. Their sole function was to serve those of the upper castes. Women were restricted from their participation in society by being relegated to subordinate and docile roles. As society became more urbanized during this Period, the need for stable leadership was realized. Thus the absolute rule of the kings became more and more prominent. Yajurveda, Samaveda, and Atharvaveda: This text is cited as the later text from this period.
