SSC GD Constable 2021 · Question 152 of 377
trigonometry
Given: A rectangular park is 110 m long and 70 m wide Two cross paths, each 6 m wide, are constructed parallel to the sides. The cost of construction of these paths is ₹ 175/m 2 Concept used: Area of a rectangle = L × B Here, L = Length B = Breadth Calculation: According to the given diagram, Total area of the two cross paths = Area of the longer cross path + Area of the shorter cross path - Shaded region So, Total area of the two cross paths = 6 × 110 + 6 × 70 - 6 × 6 ⇒ 660 + 420 - 36 ⇒ 1044 m 2 Now, Cost of constucting the paths = 1044 × 175 ⇒ 182700 ∴ T he total cost (in ₹) of construction of these paths is 182700.
