SSC CHSL 2022 · Question 60 of 92

The table given below shows the cost price and selling price of four articles. Articles Cost price Selling price P 300 250 Q 400 375 R 350 250 S 500 350 What is the average value of loss of all articles?

Profit and Loss

  1. A60.75
  2. B95.55
  3. C81.25Correct
  4. D72.24

Answer: C. 81.25

Explanation

Calculation: Loss on article P = 300 - 250 = 50 Loss on article Q = 400 - 375 = 25 Loss on article R = 350 - 250 = 100 Loss on article S = 500 - 350 = 150 ⇒ Total loss = 50 + 25 + 100 + 150 = 325 ⇒ Average loss = Total loss / Number of articles = 325 / 4 = 81.25 Hence, the average value of loss of all articles is Rs. 81.25.
