  3. CS2 alone is sufficient to answer the question.
  4. DEither S1 alone or S2 alone is sufficient to answer the question.

Answer: A. Both the statements S1 and S2 are not sufficient to answer the question.

Explanation

S1 gives x = 3y and S2 gives |x-y| = 3, so y = 1.5 or y = -1.5: not uniquely determined even together.
