TGPSC Group-I 2024 · Question 134 of 144

Rahul starts walking from his house towards the playground which is 200 meters away in the direction of East from his house. After walking 60 m, he turns left and walks 20 m. He then turns right and walks 40 m. Again he turns right and walks 40 m. After that, he turns left and walks 20 m and finally turns left and walks 20 m and reaches the point P. Then, what is the ratio between the distance yet to be travelled along the straight road to reach the playground and the total distance walked during travelling in reaching the point P ?

Mental Ability

  1. A1 : 5
  2. B2 : 5Correct
  3. C3 : 5
  4. D1 : 2

Answer: B. 2 : 5

Explanation

Rahul ends at point P = (120, 0): he walked 200 m in all, and the playground at (200, 0) is 80 m ahead along the road — 80 : 200 = 2 : 5.
