A man invests ₹10,000 at 10% compound interest per annum. After 1 year, he adds ₹5,000 more. What will be the total amount at the end of 2 years from the start?

percentage

  1. A₹17,500
  2. B₹17,600Correct
  3. C₹18,150
  4. D₹16,500

Answer: B. ₹17,600

Explanation

Given: Initial P = 10,000. Rate = 10%. After 1 year, adds 5,000. Solution: Amount after 1 year = 10,000 × 1.10 = 11,000. New Principal for 2nd year = 11,000 + 5,000 = 16,000. Interest for 2nd year = 16,000 × 10% = 1,600. Total Amount at end of year 2 = 16,000 + 1,600 = 17,600. Final Answer So the correct answer is (b)
