Explanation

Let amount that X borrowed = Rs. 100x P×R×T Simple interest = 100 Interest X need to return to the source at 8% in 3 years 100x×8×3 =A= 100 = Rs. 24x 100x×12×3 Similarly, interest X get from Y = A′ = 100 = Rs. 36x According to ques, => A′ − A = 4800 => 36x − 24x = 12x = 4800 4800 => x = 12 = 400 ∴ Amount X borrowed = 100 × 400 = Rs. 40, 000
