SSC GD Constable 2021 · Question 253 of 377
ratio-proportion
Given: A bag contains ₹310 in the form of 5 rupee, 2 rupee and 1 rupee coins in the ratio 4 ∶ 3 ∶ 5. Calculation: Let there be 4p, 3p, and 5p coins of 5 rupee, 2 rupee and 1 rupee respectively. According to the question, (4p × 5) + (3p × 2) + (5p × 1) = 310 ⇒ 20p + 6p + 5p = 310 ⇒ 31p = 310 ⇒ p = 310/31 ⇒ p = 10 Now, the number of 5 rupee coins = 4 × 10 = 40 ∴ The number of 5 rupee coins is 40.
