Explanation

Let the 8 numbers be x1 , x2 , ....., x8 (24) Sum of these 8 numbers = x1 + x2 + ..... + x8 = 27 × 8 = 216 --------------(i) If each number is multiplied by 8, => Numbers = 8x1 , 8x2 , ....., 8x8 Sum = 8(x1 + x2 + ..... + x8 ) = 8 × 216 8×216 ∴ New average = 8 = 216 => Ans - (D)
