Speed, Time and Distance

  1. A417Correct
  2. B415
  3. C420
  4. D418

Answer: A. 417

Explanation

Calculation: Total fuel consumption by various transport = 800 million litres Fuel consumption by Train sector = 800 × 75/360 = 500/3 million litres ⇒ 0.4 million litre → 1 tonne coal ⇒ 1 million litre → 1/0.4 tonne coal ⇒ 500/3 million litres → (1/0.4) × 500/3 ⇒ 5000/12 = 416.666 ∼ 417 tonne coals ∴ For 500/3 million litres, 417 tonne coals will required.
