SBI PO 2019 · Question 4 of 6

A sum is divided among five friends A, B, C, D and E respectively such that B got 20% more than what C got, C got 80% of the amount received by E who received Rs. 200 more than A and 70% of share of D. If A got Rs. 500, then what is the sum?

Ratio and Proportion

  1. A3432Correct
  2. B2996
  3. C2678
  4. D3150
  5. E3530

Answer: A. 3432

Explanation

A got Rs. 500. E got 500 + 200 = 700. C got 80% of 700 = 560. B got 20% more than C = 1.2 × 560 = 672. D: C got 70% of D => D = 560/0.7 = 800. Sum = 500 + 672 + 560 + 800 + 700 = 3232. Hmm, the solution states: A's share = 500, E = 700, C = 560, B = 672, D = 1000, Sum = 3432. So, Option 1 is the correct answer.
