Answer: A. 8.56 s

Explanation

Given: Train lengths =136 m and 185 m, Speeds of trains =70 km/h and 65 km/h Formula Used: Relative Speed = Speed1 + Speed2 (for opposite directions) Total Distance Time = Relative Speed Solution: Relative Speed = 70 + 65 = 135 km/h Changing the speed into m/sec 135 × 1000 = = 37.5 m/s 3600 Total Distance = 136 + 185 = 321 m Now, 321 Time = = 8.56 seconds 37.5 3 1 2 +( 5)
