fseek() This function is used for seeking the pointer position in the file at the specified byte. Syntax: fseek( file pointer, displacement, pointer position); file pointer points to the file, displacement is positive or negative. Displacement is the number of bytes which are skipped backward (if negative) or forward( if positive) from the current position. Position frow where offset is added example SEEK_SET from the beginning of the file Therefore fseek() function sets the position to a desired point in the file ftell() This function returns the value of the current pointer position in the file. The value is count from the beginning of the file. Syntax: ftell(fptr); // Where fptr is a file pointer. putw() putw function is used to write an integer into a file. Syntax: int putw(int number, FILE *fp); number is the integer value and fp is a file pointer getw() This function reads an integer value from a file pointed by fp. Syntax: int getw(FILE *fp);
