RRB Junior Engineer / DMS / CMA 2019 · Question 3548 of 3719
Explanation: Immersion in molten material is another form of the metallic coating. The most common form of this would be hot sip galvanizing. Hot-dip galvanizing is most commonly applied to steels to offer cathodic protection. The thickness of the coating obtained via hot-dip galvanizing is much thicker than would e achieved by zinc plating, and, thus offers superior corrosion protection. A thicker layer of zinc offers larger amounts of the anodically charged zinc relative to steel. Because this form of protection is fairly cheap and easy to apply, it's very commonly used as a protective coating on substrates.
