Direction: Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below it. There are eight friends naming H, L, N, Q, S, T, U and W seating on a square table and facing center but not necessarily in . same order. Four friends are seating on four corners and four friends seating on middle of the side. They have different car numbers viz. 1462, 1512, 2589, 3642, 2247, 4325, 5368 and 6611. (i) Q’s car no. is not 2589. Two people sits between U and T. U sits in the middle of the side. S’s car no. is 5368 and sits opposite of W. The one whose car no. is 1462 sits immediate left of H. ix (ii) N’s car no. is 1512 sits second left of Q. S and N are immediate neighbors. W sits third left of H. T’s car no. is not 1462. The w . one whose car no. is 6611 and the one whose car no. is 2589 are immediate neighbors. (iii) Neither T nor W’s car no. is 6611. H’s car no. is neither 3642 nor 4325. The one whose car no. is 2247 sits opposite of the one whose car no. is 4325. ww Who sits second to the right of H?

Explanation

From (i), we will have two cases: Case 1. If U sits at place no.1, then T sits at place no. 4. Again we will have two subcases: S and W will sit either at place no. 7 or 3 and 2 or 6. From (i) and (ii), If H sits at place no. 2, then W will sit at place no. 7 and S will sit at place no. 3 but it will not possible as S and N are immediate neighbors. Q will sit at place no. 2. ix If H sits at place no. 6, then W will sit at place no. 3 and S will sit at place no. 7, then N sits at place no. 8 and the one whose . car no. is 1462 sits at place no. 5. Case 1.b. will get discarded as we cannot make H sits at any place. From (iii), The one whose car no. is 2247 and the one whose car no. is 4325 sit at place no. 6 and 2 respectively. From (ii) and (iii), this case will get discarded as neither T nor W’s car no. is 6611.
