Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below. c o Seven persons viz. R, S, T, U, V, W, and X are designated with different roles in banking organisation and likes different colours viz. Green, Orange, Purple, Pink, Black, Red, and Blue, but not necessarily in the same order. The designations are e e CEO, Managing Director (MD), General Manager (GM), Chief Manager (CM), Manager, Deputy Manager (DM), and Trainee. The designations are in descending order of seniority such that CEO is senior-most and Trainee is junior most. W is the immediate senior of the one who likes Black and the fourth junior to the one who likes Purple. Only one person is designated between the one who likes Purple and X, who is the immediate senior of T. U is the junior-most person. The number of persons designated between U and T is the same as the number of persons designated between the one who likes Purple and Green. V is two persons senior to the one who likes Green and immediate senior to the one who likes Pink. The number of persons senior to V is one less than the number of persons junior to the one who likes Blue. Neither R nor the one who likes Red is designated as CEO whereas Trainee neither likes Orange nor Red. How many persons are designated between V and the one who likes Orange?

Explanation

(i) W is the immediate senior of the one who likes Black and the fourth junior to the one who likes Purple. (ii) Only one person is designated between the one who likes Purple and G, who is the immediate senior of T. There will be two cases: If the one who likes Purple is designated as Managing Director, then W is designated as Deputy Manager. If the one who likes Purple is designated as CEO, then W is designated as Manager. The one who likes Black is either designated as Trainee or Deputy Manager. X is either designated as Chief Manager or General Manager. T is either designated as Manager or Chief Manager. (iii) U is the junior-most person. The number of persons designated between U and T is the same as the number of persons designated between the one who likes Purple and Green. U is designated as Trainee. We know that only one person is designated between T and U in case 1. So, the one who likes Green designated as Chief Manager. In case 2. Only two person is designated between T and U in case 1. So, the one who likes Green designated as Chief Manager.
