Statement : A survey carried out in a district has shown that a large proportion of the small traders of the district have never approached a bank for credit, and that they continue to borrow from moneylenders at rates of interest far above those of the banks. Courses of action : I. The banks of the district should hold credit outreach camps at the trading centres and should explain there the loan products that are open to a small trader. II. The Government should prohibit with immediate e ect every kind of lending by moneylenders throughout the district. III. The banks should simplify the documentation that is required of a small trader who applies for a working capital loan.

Part of that statement has been lost and what survives of it is given below. Study the following information with care and then answer the questions that follow it. Seven persons – Bhaswati, Dwarika, Fahmida, Jayshree, Kshitij, Nandkishore and Rameshwar – serve in seven di erent departments of the bank, namely Customer Grievances, Corporate Communications, Financial Inclusion, Procurement, Merchant Acquiring, Currency Management and Wealth Management. Each of the seven has been posted to a di erent one of seven states, namely Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Odisha, Punjab and Rajasthan. No two of them serve in the same department and no two of them have been posted to the same state, and there is no order of seniority or of any other kind among the seven. (i) Jayshree serves in Economic Research and Kshitij serves in Financial Inclusion. (ii) The one who serves in Customer Grievances has been posted to Odisha. (iii) Fahmida has been posted to Odisha. (iv) The one who has been posted to Punjab serves in Currency Management. (v) Bhaswati serves in Currency Management. (vi) Rameshwar serves neither in Merchant Acquiring nor in Procurement. (vii) The one who has been posted to Haryana serves in Corporate Communications. (viii) Nandkishore has been posted to Rajasthan. (ix) Dwarika has been posted neither to Assam nor to Gujarat. (x) Neither Jayshree nor Kshitij has been posted to Kerala. (xi) Jayshree has not been posted to Gujarat. (xii) Dwarika does not serve in Merchant Acquiring.
