Rearrange them so as to form a coherent paragraph and then answer the questions that follow, bearing in mind that there is one order only in which the paragraph reads coherently.

  1. AA parish minister in a Scottish village, observing that his congregation hid its savings in the thatch and lost them to re and to theft, opened in 1810 a small society which took deposits of a shilling and paid interest upon them.
