ibps-rrb-os1 2021 · Question 35 of 173

Rahul travelled from point A to B. Rahul went by bike at the speed of 35 km/h and came back at the speed of 15 km/h. If Rahul took 6 hours and 40 min to complete his journey, then what is the distance between A and B?

Speed, Time & Distance

  1. A70 kmCorrect
  2. B55 km
  3. C63 km
  4. D88 km
  5. ENone of these

Answer: A. 70 km

Explanation

IBPS RRB Scale I 2021 Prelims Memory Based Paper Average speed of Rahul = 2xy/(x+y) = (2 × 35 × 15)/(35 + 15) = 1050/50 km/h Distance travelled = Speed × Time = 1050/50 × 20/3 = 140 Km Distance between A and B = 140/2 = 70 km Direction:- Read the given information carefully and answer the following questions. In a family there are four members (i.e. A, B, C & D). Ratio of income of A, C & D is 4:3:6 and income of B is equal to average of the income of A & D. Expenditure of A and B is same whereas the expenditure of C & D is same. Saving of D is equal to income of A. Saving of A is Rs. 3000 more than the saving of C. Saving & expenditure of B is same. Solution:- Let the income of A, C & D be Rs. 4x, Rs. 3x and Rs. 6x respectively. Saving of D = Rs 4x Expenditure of D = Rs. 2x Saving of C = Rs. x Expenditure of A = 4x – (x + 3000) = Rs. (3x - 3000) => Savings of B = Income of B – Expenditure of B => 3x – 3000 = 5x – (3x – 3000) => x = 6000 IBPS RRB Scale I 2021 Prelims Memory Based Paper
