Percent of shirts passed in quality test = 100 – 1.25 = 98.75% ⇒ Total no of shirts that passed the quality test = 2.8 × 98.75/100 = 276500 ⇒ Total no of shirts that failed the quality test = 280000 – 276500 = 3500. Formal shirts that failed the quality test = 2300 ⇒ Informal shirts that failed the quality test = 1200 ⇒ percent of informal shirts that failed the quality test = 1% ⇒ 1200 = 1% of Total no. of informal shirts ⇒ Total no. of informal shirts = 120000 ⇒ Total no. of formal shirts = 160000. ∴ Ratio of formal shirts to informal shirts = 160000 : 120000 = 4 : 3.
